Muskoka Indie Night – February 2020

February 21 @ 8:00 pm - 11:30 pm

$15.00
Featured Bands for Muskoka Indie Night - February 2020

Join us for the second installment in the Muskoka Indie Night local music showcase at Bracebridge Hall. Our first Indie Night was an unqualified success, with three fantastic bands rocking the Hall. We’ve got three more acts lined up for what is bound to be another fantastic night of local talent.

Muskoka is a hotbed of incredibly talented musicians that span a variety of genres and demographic audiences. With the opening of Bracebridge Hall in August of 2019, we now have a professionally equipped and staffed concert facility in the Heart of Muskoka.

This presents an excellent opportunity to showcase incredible local talent in a professional venue to a willing audience. This is the concept behind Muskoka Indie Night.

February Lineup

Christina Hutt

Christina Hutt

Christina Hutt sings from the seed of her soul weaving together Country, Blues, and Folk music. Her original songs capture raw and vulnerable truth that resonates with her audience. She can evoke feelings of nostalgia with an old classic tune, bring a tear to your eye with her passionate delivery, or get your foot tapping to an upbeat little ditty.

Christina emotes her music with a natural, rich tone and distinctive vibrato. Prepare to be moved.

Papa John Witterick

Papa John Witterick came up the same as many before him: by finding his way to the purest of blues through the music of contemporary Blues artists, and working his way back in time. John’s youth was filled with the likes of Ry Cooder, Eric Clapton, Taj Mahal, and B.B. King, who helped him to eventually discover Son House, Tampa Red, Robert Nighthawk, Howlin’ Wolf, Muddy Waters, and Johnny Winter, with whom he had the pleasure to open for in 1992.

John plays Blues from almost everywhere – Mississippi, Chicago, Memphis, St. Louis, Texas – but his favorite remains the Deep Delta songs that reflect so much of the social and political history behind the 100 years of the genre.

Papa John has gone from being the leader of an electric blues quartet & trio, to finding his stride as a long-time solo performer playing mostly in an amplified acoustic format, complete with smoky, electrified blues harp. Papa John has recorded several albums, but honestly, the best way to experience him, is to see him testify his love of the Blues, live and in person. Treat yourself to a throwback in time, a juke joint experience, and let the good times roll!

Midnight Alchemist

Midnight Alchemist

Midnight Alchemist is a 5-piece indie rock band hailing from Muskoka, Canada. Blending genres to create the new, Midnight Alchemist takes on many forms. They work not with the physical elements but the elements of sound, seeking to transform simple melodies into something greater.
