January 17 @ 8:00 pm - 11:30 pm$15.00
Muskoka is a hotbed of incredibly talented musicians that span a variety of genres and demographic audiences. With the opening of Bracebridge Hall in August of 2019, we now have a professionally equipped and staffed concert facility in the Heart of Muskoka.
This presents an excellent opportunity to showcase incredible local talent in a professional venue to a willing audience. This is the concept behind Muskoka Indie Night.
Friday January 17th
Bracebridge Hall is proud to host the new Muskoka Indie Night series.
Three local bands will each perform one set with the first act starting at 8 pm, second a 9 pm and the final act at 10 pm. Each set will be no more than 45 minutes to allow a 15 minute break for changeover.
January Line Up
This trio of amigos formed in Bracebridge, Ontario in 2018. After inhabiting the same small Muskokan town a mere 19 years they combined their musical talents to formulate a mixture of complex upbeat drumming, quirky lyrics, and groovy basslines. Despite not wanting to be construed as “too hipster” they funk out with electrically twangy original tunes that always get pub patrons pouncing (bouncing?) around. Don’t miss their earthly sound that’s sure to keep you up in the clouds.
The Hillbirds (from Barrie, ON) keep things real with their meaningful lyrics and high energy performances. Performing for the first time in early 2019, they have had a great run so far including performances at The Horseshoe Tavern (Toronto), Opening for Craig Cardiff and The Trews for Barrie’s 2020 Downtown Countdown, playing at “On the Docks” live music series in Huntsville, The Algonquin Theatre in Huntsville and The Here on Earth Music Festival(Dundalk, ON). Formed originally by the husband/wife musical duo Nicole and Nick Duquette, The Hillbirds have filled out their sound with Tanner Greatrix on drums and David Rakusin on bass. Current work in the recording studio and a growing list of upcoming shows indicates The Hillbirds are here to stay.
